Continuing education & certificates

How CE hours are calculated, what your certificate contains, how to verify one, and what to check with your licensing board before you enroll.

Before you enroll: acceptance of any continuing education course is determined by your own licensing board, not by the provider. Requirements differ by state and by discipline. Please confirm with your board that self-paced, home-study format courses count toward your renewal.

How CE hours are calculated

One CE hour equals 60 minutes of instructional contact time. Instructional time includes video content and required assessment activity. It does not include optional reading, breaks, or time spent on the evaluation form.

Our courses run 3.0 to 4.0 CE hours. The exact figure is stated on every course detail page before you pay, and it is the figure printed on your certificate.

Completion requirements

To be awarded CE hours you must:

  • Complete the pre-test
  • View all video content — the platform records viewing time and prevents skipping
  • Score 75% or higher on the post-test, within three attempts
  • Submit the course evaluation

Partial credit is not available. A course is either completed in full or not completed.

What your certificate contains

  • Your name exactly as entered in your profile
  • Your discipline, license number and state, if provided
  • Course title and the number of CE hours awarded
  • Date of completion
  • Provider name and provider identification number
  • Instructor name and credentials
  • A unique verification code

Certificates are issued as PDF and remain available in your account permanently. If you need a name corrected, contact support — we will reissue and the original will be marked superseded in our records.

Record retention

We retain participant completion records, post-test scores, seat time logs and evaluation responses in accordance with the record retention periods expected of continuing education sponsors. If your board audits your renewal, we can produce a participation record on request.

Verifying a certificate

Every certificate carries a verification code. Employers, licensing boards and district administrators can confirm a certificate independently without contacting the holder.

Verification confirms the holder's name, course title, CE hours and completion date. No other information is disclosed.

Grievances and accommodations

We maintain a published grievance procedure and will make reasonable accommodations for participants with disabilities. See our grievance policy and accessibility statement, or contact us directly.

Commercial support and conflicts of interest

Instructor disclosures are published on every course detail page and stated at the start of each course. See disclosures for the full statement.

Questions about CE credit?

We would rather answer a question before you enroll than issue a refund afterward.
